Sepvret and the sources of the Sèvre Niortaise

The village of Sepvret is the home of the sources of the Sèvre Niortaise. This beautiful, peaceful and unspoilt area is most enjoyable at any season as it enjoys the special climate of the region having sunshine hours second only to the Côte d''Azur.

The city of Melle is about 10 kms from here and there you will find everything you need for your daily shopping: postoffice, swimming pool, market, shops. Melle is also known for the summer exhibitions that are organized in its beautiful romanesque churches.

La Grosse Talle and Sepvret are situated on beautiful farmland, in a peaceful, gently undulating area as yet untouched by mass-tourism and ideal for walking, horse-riding, touring by car or by bike. But it is also on the western route to Santiago di Compostella, and we regularly welcome pilgrims.

The Deux-Sèvres, with 2300 - 2600 hours of sunshine every year!

As for the yearly amount of sunshine, the Deux-Sèvres is second only to the Provence/Côte d'Azur! However, we don't have the numbers of tourists that you might find in some other places in France; this area has conserved its tranquility and beauty of authentic rural France...
